Prequel to Lord of the Rings Series to be Filmed in New Zealand From Amazon

Amazon did not disclose any information about the Lord of the Rings series but all the fans predicted that the shooting of the movie will be in New Zealand. When the Amazon announced that they are going to set up base in New Zealand for the shooting of the movie in Auckland for the prequel of the series, the fans were not surprised. The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit a prequel to the series bothe the movies were shot in New Zealand.
The search for the location was to look for a place with primordial beauty along with the Second Age of the Earth. It needs to have mountains, forests, and coats which is important for storyline. They needed the place to be the sets and studios for experienced staff to work on the movie, said by J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay. That is how they completed their search for the location of Amazon’s Lord of the Rings new series.
The Lord of the Rings series is based on the stories from J.R.R Tolkien. Even though the shooting for the movie is just about to begin there is not much information about the cast and plot of the movie. It is said that Will Poulter and Markella Kavenagh can be cast in the series.
The first two episodes will be directed by the J.A. Bayona who is also Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom director. The other known cast is Bruce Richmond (Game of Thrones), Jason Cahill (The Sopranos), Sharon Tal Yguado, Payne and McKay and Belén Atienza, Gennifer Hutchison (Breaking Bad), Gene Kelly (Boardwalk Empire), Justin Doble (Stranger Things), Lindsey Weber (10 Cloverfield Lane).
The production of the show is handled by Amazon studios, Tolkien Estate and Trust, HarperCollins, and a division of Warner Bros. The first season of the series will have 20 episodes, announced by Tolkien scholar Tom Shippey who is part of creative team which is quite different than other streaming services as the trend is to decrease the number of episodes.
