Apple TV+ has only one international Orginal till now which is Shantaram. It is a series based on the 2003 novel Gregory David Robers who is an Australian author. The cast for the show has been recently finalized. Radhika Apte, Charlie Hunnam, and Richard Roxburgh were approached for the roles. Their roles will be Kavita an India journalist, Lindsay Ford convicted bank robber and Detective Sergeant Marty Nightingale who is an Australian Federal Police Detective, respectively. The protagonist of the show is Shantaram who escapes from prison and flees to India.
The Deadline for the show is after the new developments from Apple TV+. The filming will start in October so it might release in 2020. The first two episodes of the show will be directed by Justin Kurzel who was part of the Assassin’s Creed movie. The Shantaram Series will consist of 10 episodes.
Kuzel will also be an executive producer for the show along with Eric Warren Singer who was hired last June for the adaptation of the script. The show starred Radhika Apte who was seen in three Netflix originals form India in 2018. She was in Lust Stories, Ghoul and Sacred Games.
Hunnam has become quite popular since his role in Sons of Anarchy and after that, he was in Pacific Rim, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, The Lost City of Z, and Triple Frontier.
Roxburgh is also quite popular with starring and co-creating the award-winning show Rake. He was also a part of the famous Mission: Impossible 2, Moulin Rouge, and My Father. He will be seen in the recent Sky-HBO series Catherine the Great.
Apple TV+ is going to launch over two dozens of originals shows which launch on November 1 worldwide. During the launch, it will release nine series and after that one show, every month.
